Working in the caring profession is second nature to Una, whose parents were live-in wardens at a residential accommodation complex for elderly people. Which meant, as Una says, she was brought up with "an extra 24 grannies and granddads"!

She's a strong believer in homecare, and proud that DoCare is also able to offer palliative care for a number of elderly people, so they are able to remain in their own homes until the end of their lives.

"My role in the business is to look at it strategically with Steve, so we know what direction it is going in and so we can constantly improve the services we offer."

Outside of DoCare, Una gardens, has set up a book club, and loves cooking - with Chinese her speciality.

Una describes herself as conscientious, "because I'd hate to let people down".
