Team > Una Mills
Working in the caring profession is second nature to Una, whose parents were live-in wardens at a residential accommodation complex for elderly people. Which meant, as Una says, she was brought up with "an extra 24 grannies and granddads"!
She's a strong believer in homecare and became acutely aware of the challenges involved in obtaining good quality care for a loved one when trying to arrange care for her father. This experience was intrinsic to Steve and Una setting up Docare.
"My role in the business has always been to look at it strategically with Steve, so we know what direction it is going in and so we can constantly improve the services we offer. My passion is to ensure that we maintain our good reputation and constantly deliver a high quality service. I am also very involved in the recruitment side of our operation as we believe good quality staff are at the heart of what we do."
Una has a background in law, education and training. Each of these roles has given her a wide variety of skills which she applies to the operational side of the business.
Outside DoCare, Una enjoys family activities with Steve and their son and daughter, cares for the family's numerous pets, has set up a book club, and loves cooking and travel. Her big passion is photography.
Una describes herself as conscientious, "because I know just how important good quality care is".
